SPORTS AND DATA ANALYTICS

At Business Data Challengers we like to give students an opportunity to complete their graduation project
to do with us during an internship. Chantal Blom is currently working on some very interesting research with us.
She would be happy to tell you more about it.

“As a graduate intern, I am working on a fun Data Science project at Business Data Challengers.

Together with the Dutch Handball Association, I look at how data analytics can add value
when scouting sports talents. At this stage of the project I am mainly concerned with
structuring and visualizing the different data that is available.

The purpose of this is to find out what the analysis options are for the next phase.
The real analyzes will be done during the second phase. I'll go take a look then
how the information obtained can reach the scouts and coaches, so that they
ultimately be able to make choices more efficiently.

It is very nice that BDC and the NHV give me the opportunity to use the techniques used during the study
that have been discussed can now really be put into practice.
I am curious about the continuation of the project!”
