SPORTS AND DATA ANALYTICS

At Business Data Challengers we like to give students a chance to present their graduation project
to do during an internship with us. Chantal Blom is currently working with us on a fantastic research project.
She will be happy to tell you more about it.

“As a graduate intern, I am working on a fun Data Science project at Business Data Challengers.

Together with the Dutch Handball Association, I am looking at how data analytics can add value
contribute to scouting sports talent. In this phase of the project I am mainly concerned with
structuring and visualizing the various data available.

The purpose of this is to find out what the analysis possibilities are for the next phase.
The real analyses will be done during the second phase. I will also look at
on how the information obtained can reach the scouts and coaches so that they
ultimately be able to make more efficient choices.

It is great that BDC and the NHV have given me the opportunity to use the techniques I learned during my studies.
have been discussed, now it is time to put them into practice.
I am curious about the continuation of the project!”
